Last 29 November – 1 December 2023, The European Institute for Innovation through Health Data (i~HD) held its successful annual conference titled “Building Trust in Health Data”. More than 300 participants attended the different sessions both onsite in the Marriott Hotel Ghent in Belgium and online.
The conference’s participants came from different countries such as Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Nigeria, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Scotland, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK and the USA. They also represented different stakeholder groups, namely health policy makers and funders, patient organisations, pharmaceutics and life science, healthcare providers, health ICT industry, academia and research centres, data-driven industry and health and data strategy organisations. Keynote speakers from the opening plenary session included high-level representatives from the World Health Organisation, the European Commission and the Belgian federal government.
During the two-day conference, the attendees followed different plenary and parallel sessions on medicine safety, the European Health Data Space, Artificial Intelligence systems in healthcare, patients in the driving seat, hospital management, Health Data frameworks, data quality labels and data quality education. Attendees also joined a guided tour of the city of Ghent and a conference dinner that provided networking opportunities. i~HD and its co-organising partners would like to thank all the chairs, speakers, programme builders and participants, as well as the City of Ghent, Marriott Hotel Ghent, sponsors and strategic partners for the success of the conference.
